The 2020 Covid Edition of the venerable Crescent Challenge will be held at Ride Kanuga Bike Park near Hendersonville. Several of us will be up there as of Friday afternoon, so don't hesitate to arrive a tad early and ride a bit. Look for our traditional signage. Bring your own breakfast/lunch/beer. We'll have a group feast Saturday night, be sure Scott Sawyer (see contact info further down) knows you are coming or there may not be enough food for you.
** Ride Kanuga Bike Park requires either a day ($30) or month ($50) pass. Purchase these in advance. We are certainly planning to ride there all day Saturday. Sunday is up for discussion.
We've reserved the campsite near the bottom of Southeast Style and Paint it Black trails. This is a large wooded campsite area with fire ring, and 2 large open A frame shelters. There is plenty of room to spread out and fairly level ground for tents as well. This is not car camping. On the primitive map below, "X" marks the camping site. You can walk up from the "Information Kiosks" (as marked on their trail map) and unload your essentials and pack them into the woods up the access trail a hundred yards or so. We can unload coolers, bikes, firewood etc... off the shoulder of the paved Kanuga Lake Road at the spot marked "U". Permanent parking will either be at the mountain bike parking lot "P", or overflow parking "P".
We've also reserved a small cabin that sleeps four and has bathroom/shower. I'm not sure where it is or who is in it at this point. For clarity on these items, reach out to:
